How to Delete Discord Server | PC,Mac or Mobile Devices

If you've just set up a new Discord server, your job is much easier. You may not have a large number of users to moderate instead of hosting some of your Discord friends together. This can change when you build a large community, however, when moderation becomes more important.

While some Discord bots can help make moderation a little easier, it still requires a temporary commitment that you may not have. You may have other issues with the platform, ranging from privacy concerns to the bad streaming battery, although Discord Nitro can help if it does.

Whatever concerns you may have, if you are tired of your Discord server, now may be the time to transfer ownership or delete it altogether. If you want to know how to delete a Discord server, you need to do this.

Discord server ownership transfer.

There may be another way to offload the responsibility before you take the hard option to delete the Discord server. You can transfer ownership of the Discord server to another user, giving them full control over how to change, edit and moderate it in the future.

This will mean that you will no longer have any guarante control over the server. For example, if you want other users to become moderators or administrators later, you will only be able to do so if the new owner gives you access. You will not be able to delete the server later, as only the owner of the new server will have the power to do so.

  • To transfer ownership of a server, open the Discord desktop app, or access the Discord website. Once signed in, select your server name at the top left, then click the Server Settings option.

  • In the Discord Server Settings menu, click the Members option on the left, which is listed in the User Management category.

  • In the next menu, you will see a list of server members. Navigate to the user to whom you want to transfer the property, then click the three-dot menu icon on the right.

  • From the drop-down menu, click the Transfer Ownership option.

  • Discord will ask you to confirm that you want to transfer ownership. If you are sure, click the slider, then click the Transfer Ownership button to confirm.

  • Once verified, the new owner will be added to the list of Discord Members with a crown next to their name. The rest of your access will depend on the role of the server that preceded your transfer.

  • Although you can't change the change yourself, the new owner can transfer the property back to you. This is possible only if they agree. Before transferring ownership, make sure you are absolutely sure of your choice, as you cannot return it.

Alternative to discord.
Deleting a discord server cannot be reversed. If you have decided to delete your Discord server, be sure to consider alternatives such as transferring ownership first. Once your Discord server is deleted, you will know that other platforms, such as Slack, are better suited to your needs.

Setting up a new Slack account and getting started on the platform is fairly easy. Once you're on the server, you can start making slow calls and sending private messages to your colleagues and friends. However, be sure to enable two-factor authentication on Slack to keep your account secure.
