Discord server ownership transfer.

There may be another way to offload the responsibility before you take the hard option to delete the Discord server. You can transfer ownership of the Discord server to another user, giving them full control over how to change, edit and moderate it in the future.

This will mean that you will no longer have any guarante control over the server. For example, if you want other users to become moderators or administrators later, you will only be able to do so if the new owner gives you access. You will not be able to delete the server later, as only the owner of the new server will have the power to do so.

• To transfer ownership of a server, open the Discord desktop app, or access the Discord website. Once signed in, select your server name at the top left, then click the Server Settings option.
  
  
• In the Discord Server Settings menu, click the Members option on the left, which is listed in the User Management category.
  
  
• In the next menu, you will see a list of server members. Navigate to the user to whom you want to transfer the property, then click the three-dot menu icon on the right.
  
  
• From the drop-down menu, click the Transfer Ownership option.
  
  
• Discord will ask you to confirm that you want to transfer ownership. If you are sure, click the slider, then click the Transfer Ownership button to confirm.
  
  
• Once verified, the new owner will be added to the list of Discord Members with a crown next to their name. The rest of your access will depend on the role of the server that preceded your transfer.

• Although you can't change the change yourself, the new owner can transfer the property back to you. This is possible only if they agree. Before transferring ownership, make sure you are absolutely sure of your choice, as you cannot return it.

How to Delete Discord Server on PC or Mac.

If you're sure you'd like to delete your Discord server altogether, this process is straightforward for desktop users. These steps are the same for users of Discord on the web as well as Discord desktop apps on Windows and Mac.

• To get started, open the Discord app or website and sign in. In the server itself, click the server name, then click the Server Settings option from the drop-down menu.
  
  
• In the Discord Server Settings menu, click the Delete Server option at the bottom of the left-hand menu.

• Before you can delete your Discord server, you need to confirm that you want to proceed. To do so, type the full name of your server, then click Delete Server to confirm.

• You will not be able to reverse this process, so make sure you want to do this before confirming your choice.

• Once verified, your server will be deleted from Discord. All server members (including you) will no longer be able to view or access it, deleting all shared messages and content.

How to Delete Discord Server on Mobile Devices

If you prefer to use Discord on an Android, iPhone, or iPad device, you can also delete your server in the Discord app. The same rules apply - once you delete the discord server you will not be able to retrieve it, so make sure you want to proceed.

• To delete your Discord server, open the Discord app on your mobile device. Tap the hamburger menu icon at the top left to access the menu panel.

• If you are not already on your server, select it by tapping the server icon on the left. Once you're active on your server, tap the three dots menu icon next to your server name.

• A menu will appear at the bottom of your screen. Tap the Settings icon to access your Discord Server Settings menu.

• In the Discord Server Settings menu, tap the Three Dots menu icon in the top right corner.

• From the drop-down menu, tap Delete Server to begin the process of deleting the server.

• You will need to confirm that you want to delete your server. If you're sure, tap Delete to confirm your choice.

Once verified, Discord will delete your server. All server members will be removed and any secure or shared content will be deleted.

Alternative to discord.

Deleting a discord server cannot be reversed. If you have decided to delete your Discord server, be sure to consider alternatives such as transferring ownership first. Once your Discord server is deleted, you will know that other platforms, such as Slack, are better suited to your needs.
